Student Leadership

Student Leadership

Students leaders at the College get given a wide variety of opportunities to lead……. this starts from early on where they can opt into the William Pike award, followed on by the Duke of Ed program which provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills.

The student council is open to all students from Year 7 through to Year 13 and is an opportunity to develop leadership skills early on at College.

When they get to senior level, there are many opportunities available for students within our school, such as helping junior students (peer support), running the Year 7 challenge cup, running lunchtime sport/cultural activities, coordinating interval & lunchtime behaviour reward programmes (like this years cupcake rewards), coordinating fundraising events like Daffodil Day, roles within haka comp & the kapa haka, Year 12 leadership camp (training for Year 13), Year 12 day supporting the transitioning year 6’s, Pink Shirt Day, Leading school assemblies to name just a few.

Leadership changes from year to year dependant on who steps up, ideas put forward, and what need there is in our school community.
