Cromwell College

Sport

Cromwell College offers a range of sport and recreation activities, as well as partnering with many community clubs and associations to bring more opportunities to our students.

At Cromwell College, we believe that co-curricular activity is integral to a young person’s development. Sport provides our students with valuable opportunities to discover their potential, explore new interests, express their talents, and strive for excellence. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can participate and grow, whether they are playing for fun or competing at an elite level.

Our students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of sports, from team-based games to individual pursuits, ensuring there is something for everyone. Through our sports academies, they are not only able to build physical and mental resilience but also develop key life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and the pursuit of personal excellence. Cromwell College students also have the chance to attend inter-school competitions at local, regional, national, and sometimes international levels, representing the school with pride.

Our Aims, Values and Expectations

Registration and Entry
Each sport has different entry requirements so students need to listen out to daily notices about meetings, trials and training times. Permission and information forms are sent out electronically to parents/caregivers and must be returned to the person in charge of that activity (via the Google form provided) at least one week prior to it starting.
Please contact the person in charge of the sport to find out key dates for the season.
Fees
A fee is charged for all codes, which covers items such as registration/entry, transport, uniform and equipment hire or purchase, and affiliation fees. These fees must be paid, or an automatic payment set up before the first game/event as the school has a “no pay, no play” policy.
Payment Options

1. Internet Banking: ANZ 06-0921-0065749-00 Reference: “Student Name” Particulars: “Sport/Activity “.

2. Pay by cash or eftpos at the Student Office. Their hours are 8.30am – 3pm each day.

Tournaments
Throughout the school year students are invited to participate in various sporting tournaments. These often involve hosting students from our competitor schools, or being billeted out to a family. This enriches the experience of those involved, and helps keep costs low – meaning we can do more.
Code of Conduct

We expect a high level of conduct from competitors, coaches, managers, and volunteers, in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We have chosen to adopt the Central Otago Primary School Sport (COPSSA) guidelines for Codes of Conduct.

Sport Uniform

When representing Cromwell College, students are required to wear the appropriate uniform for that sport.
