Scholarships

There are many scholarships available to Cromwell College students who are planning to attend university, polytechnic, teachers' college or some other tertiary institution. Mrs Page, the careers teacher, is the coordinator of all information concerning available scholarships. Students are encouraged to see her early in the year to gather information and examine tertiary study options. Scholarship information will also be posted on this page at regular intervals.

2012 MESNZ Engineering Scholarships

For students studying engineering technology and is worth $5,000. It is available for students studying an engineering degree, diploma or certificate through a university, polytechnic or an industry training organisation. Applications close on 26th August 2011.

The Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre Scholarships from Genesis Energy

This is available to all students wanting to attend the OPC. www.youtube.com/studentvswild. Scholarships are worth $5,000. Check out details about the Pursuits Centre at www.opc.org.nz

Arrow Foundation 2011 Leadership Scholarships

this is for a student who has demonstrated great leadership both at school and in the community. 2x$5,000 scholarships for the most impressive applications nationwide and 6x2,500 scholarships allocated across NZ. Applications open at beginning of Term 3 and close at the end of Term 3. Application packs will be sent later but have a look on www.arrowinternational.co.nz.

The Salvation Army Edmund Sanderson Jeff farm Scholarship

Scholarships of up to $7,000 are available for students in financial need to study agriculture at tertiary level. Applications can be downloaded from http://www.salvationarmy.org.nz/here-to-help/youthchildren/youthprogrammes/jeff-farm/

Canterbury University Open Day

Friday 8th July, from 9am-4pm. Tours of accommodation are from 12 noon until 4pm on Thursday 7th July. The preliminary programme is on line. If you want accommodation during this visit you can book accommodation in the halls of residence. See www.canterbury.ac.nz

Dairy NZ Scholarships

Up to 50 undergraduate scholarships annually to either Lincoln or Massey universities. Scholarships are tenable for up to 4 years. Full, formal tuition fees up to a maximum of $5,000/year. Support and mentoring is available for every recipient. For information about these scholarships go to www.dairynz.co.nz, www.lincoln.ac.nz or www.massey.ac.nz. Massey University- High Achiever Scholarship

This scholarship has the focus on high achievement in either academic, or arts or a combination of the two. These applications close on the 30th August 2011. Application forms and the regulations are available at http://awards.massey.ac.nz.

Massey University Academy of Sport Scholarship

Recipients awarded a sport scholarship will be inducted into the Massey Academy of Sport Programme, and along with an athlete support manager to provide individual support, recipients will be provided sport and academic services. Keystone NZ Property Education Trust

This scholarship supports students studying Property Management, Planning, Engineering, Valuation, Real Estate, Architecture, Quantity Surveying and Landscape Architecture to the value of $5,000.00 for 3 years.
