Hello, we are Piers and Jenny Westacott, co Managers of the Cromwell College Apartments. Our primary role is to ensure that the pastoral care of the students living in the Apartments is maintained to a consistently high level.

Apartments
The strength of the Apartments programme is that students get to develop fantastic Lifeskills such as cooking, planning and cooperating. We support them throughout the whole process of learning to live in a flatting-style situation while they also take part in the Outdoor Pursuits Programme.
Since 1995 Cromwell College has been at the forefront of residentially-based academy learning. The Cromwell College Apartments offer secondary students in Years 12 and 13 a chance to experience a unique transition between life at home and the world of work or tertiary study. During 2004 and 2005 the complex had extensive renovation and expansion work. Currently there are six student flats. Each flat contains five or six single bedrooms, bathroom and toilet facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge. Laundry and common room facilities are shared between the six student flats. Students have access to a sunny, attractive communal courtyard and extensive grassed areas.
Adult managers live on site and assist students with all aspects of the flatting experience. With the help and guidance of the managers, each flat looks after its own cooking, cleaning, menu and budget planning. Communal shared meals and outings are a significant part of life at the Apartments.
All the students who live at the Apartments must take part in the Outdoor Pursuits Programme. There is an expectation that Apartment students are committed to the Outdoor Pursuits Programme, a commitment to a full programme of study at the College and a commitment to the Life Skills Programme at the Apartments. Our experience has shown that students who make these commitments have an outstanding and successful year and are well-prepared to take on the challenges of the next step in their lives.
